History

My passions, in no particular order, are Soccer, iOS, Goslings, Banana Bread, Lattes, Running, Social Networking, Entrepreneurship, Video editing, Apple products, Lauren, Dogs, Computing, GoPro-ing, and our new Wine & Book Club. This list is not comprehensive.

I'm a somewhat active member on several social media platforms, of which the most well known are Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, Youtube, Runkeeper, and Instagram (#ajzakalu). If you are a member of any of the above social media sites I encourage you to add me.

Timeline

I was born in Toronto, played soccer growing up, and hung out with my two brothers: Roman Jr, (Roju) and Dan. I'm the middle child. After brief stints in Winnipeg and Fort McMurry, the Zakaluznys settled in Calgary.

I went to the University of Calgary and completed science degrees in Computer Engineering (BSc) and Electrical Engineering (MSc). I completed the Chartered Financial Analyst program (CFA) as well. Most of the while I played varsity soccer, except for the year I dabbled with the x-country team to meet women.

In 2005 I met the cross country and track runner Lauren (my plan worked!) and we married in 2010. The rest is history. And the rest includes work terms at Panasonic Wireless as a software engineer; Allegro as a software consultant; Niska Gas Storage as an operations manager and quant; and RLG International as a performance coach.
